Meet Camille

“I came to PEI on February 24, 2024 at around 12 midnight from Dubai. I am currently working in Kings County Memorial Hospital, coming from Dubai and moving here alone was quite challenging at first. It was tough navigating a new country & community on my own, the difference in accessibility to transportation compared to Dubai where transportation is easily accessible, as well as the time difference away from my husband and family back home. But I’m just so grateful that everyone here is so nice and friendly. They made me feel that I belong here and accepted me with open arms. Thanks to Rachel from the PEI Community Navigators for guiding me through the process of getting settled here. Also, my Filipino friends who helped me in every way possible and gave me a feeling of being home. And most especially with my KCMH colleagues, I was overwhelmed with their support and care like they treat me as their own family. What I like the most here in PEI is the people and the nature. I love walking on the confederation trail in the mornings and chatting with random people. I can say now that I am really blessed to be part of this community and I loved being here in PEI. I can’t wait for my husband to be here with me and I’m certain that he will love this place as much as I do!”
