The Rural Municipality of Tyne Valley is located in Prince County, Prince Edward Island, approximately 30 km away from Summerside and 88 km away from Charlottetown. In 1765, the Tyne Valley area was known as “The Landing,” as lumber floated up the Trout River from the shipyards at Bideford and Port Hill. The community was officially named Tyne Valley in 1868, after the River Tyne in England. Tyne Valley is a scenic area with many amenities.
